The Village of Stratton had their monthly meeting on Monday, May 20th. A new Rates Resolution was passed to reflect new equipment rental rates, late fees and returned check fees and fees for nuisance violation equipment rates. Please view Utilites- Billing Information and Rental Rates to review details. As a reminder Village Ordinance 91.24 states:
The owner or occupant of any lot or piece of ground within the Village shall keep the lot or piece of ground and adjoining streets and alleys free of any growth or 12 inches or more in height of weeds, grasses or worthless vegetation.
The throwing, depositing, or accumulation of litter on any lot or piece of ground within the Village is prohibited.
There was also Resolution 472 passed authorizing to sign application for CDBG funds for a sewer project and Resolution 473 to authorize to execute a contract for a NDEQ loan. More information to come regarding the sewer project.
We would also like to remind all residence that any electrical outage or other usage questions should be directed to the Village Office or Utilities Superintendent. Only Village employees are authorized to contact SWPPD to request repairs on the Village utilities. There were some verification issues when getting information regarding our account due to several unauthorized request for service coming from residences in Stratton during the last power outage. SWPPD will be unable to answer account questions or provide repair services for individuals in Stratton.
Annual Dog license are due to the Village Office by January 31st of each year. Dog license are $5.00 and a current rabies vaccination in required. This license is due every year for each dog to ensure that records are kept current and the community and our animals are kept safe.
