As warm weather is upon us we will be seeing more outdoor water usage and with that more opportunities for cross contamination of the water system and quicker growing lawns. The Village would like to take this opportunity to remind residents to keep lawns and weeds mowed and test your backflow preventer. If you don’t already have a backflow preventer please contact the Village Office to discuss options available. Backflow prevention is a vital part in keeping our drinking water safe. If a resident is in violation of Village Ordinance to keep growth of weeds, grasses, or worthless vegetation less than 12 inches there is a nuisance mowing fee. The fee is at a minimum 1 hour at $50.00/hour equipment charge plus $25.00/ hour labor charge. Second offense in same calendar year will be double the minimum equipment charge.
