DOG ORDINANCE REMINDER

As we have had several complaints regarding dogs in the past couple months we would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of Village Ordinances regarding dogs. If you believe you are in violation please correct your actions to prevent any further involvement from the Village. If you notice any violations of others notify the Village Clerk in writing so that we can be made aware of the individual. There is a form on this page that will allow you to submit a complaint or concern. Under Forms select Complain Form and enter and submit the information. Also, as a reminder ensure that your dog has received its ANNUAL license and is current on rabies vaccinations. Again you can do that on this site. Select Dog License under forms, don't forget to attach a copy of the rabies vaccination and pay the associated fees. We would like to make sure all residents are safe and comfortable walking the streets of our town. Thank you for your cooperation.
93.02 RUNNING AT LARGE; TETHERING.
It shall be unlawful for the owner of any dog to run at large at any time on any of the public ways and property…
93.43 BARKING AND CHASING; COMPLAINTS.
It shall be unlawful for the owner to allow a dog to annoy or disturb any neighborhood or person by loud, continued, or frequent barking, howling, or yelping or to habitually bark at or chase pedestrians, drivers, or vehicles while they are on any public sidewalks, streets, or alleys in the village.
93.44 PROHIBITED ANIMALS.
The term “Prohibited Animals” as used herein shall include…..Any Pit Bull dog.
FINE AMOUNTS for each offense will be as follows: $25.00 for first offense, $50.00 for second offense, $100.00 for third offense, and $500.00 for fourth offense.
