Snow Removal

With all the snow we have received lately the Village of Stratton would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the snow removal ordinance regarding Village streets.
Any equipment operated on streets for the purpose of snow removal must obtain authorization from the Village Board of Trustees. This authorization allows for organization and reduced liability on the part of the resident. Contact the Village office to submit your request or if you have any questions. Once you have been authorized the Village Superintendent or designated representative can contact each resident to organize and direct the snow removal process. We can notify the resident where to pile the snow and where any hazards may be located to prevent costly damage to Village Streets and utilities as well as protect the resident’s snow removal equipment.
Any damage caused by unauthorized snow removal will result in penalties and resident will be financially responsible for any repairs needed.
We appreciate the residents of the Village caring enough to want to help take care of the town. We are all on the same team and have the same goal, help us work together to make it happen.
