A meeting of the Stratton Village Board of Trustees was held on Monday May 3, 2021 at 4:00 pm CT at the Village Clerk’s Office. Notice of the meeting was posted and availability of the agenda was communicated in the advance notice. A poster of the “Open Meetings Act” was clearly visible on the wall, and Chairman J. McDonald directed the attention of those present to the poster. All proceedings hereafter shown occurred while the meeting was in session. Present: Chairman J. McDonald, Trustee T. Jones, Trustee J. Griffiths, Superintendent K. League, Clerk T. Hedrick, and Deputy Clerk Burk.
The meeting was called to order at 4:04 pm.
OPEN FORUM: Clerk Hedrick informed the Board that a member of the Stratton Community Foundation approached her regarding a possible grant to help with salaries for Park and Recreation employees. The board inquired about how many employees and new applications the pool currently had. Clerk Hedrick informed the board that there are only two confirmed employees at this time but exchanges have taken place with several other potential applicants. Superintendent League stated that the Village is ready to do maintenance items at the pool once we have employees ready to start.
Motion by T. Jones and second by J. Griffiths to approve the previous minutes. Roll call: Ayes: J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald. Nays: None. Absent: S. Hanes and M. McDonald. Motion Carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
A real estate purchase agreement offer on 311 Bailey was reviewed by the board. Motion made by J. Griffiths and second by T. Jones to accept the offer of $40,000 made on property at 311 Bailey. Roll call: Ayes: J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald. Nays: None. Absent: S. Hanes and M. McDonald. Motion Carried.
Motion made by T. Jones and second by J. Griffiths to adjourn the meeting at 4:16pm. Roll call: Ayes: J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald. Nays: None. Absent: S. Hanes and M. McDonald. Motion Carried.
The next regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees will be held on Monday May 17, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the Village Office.
