A special meeting of the Stratton Village Board of Trustees was held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 7:00 pm CT at the Village Clerk’s Office. Notice of the meeting was posted and availability of the agenda was communicated in the advance notice. A poster of the “Open Meetings Act” was clearly visible on the board room wall, and Chairman J. Griffiths directed the attention of those present to the poster. All proceedings hereafter shown occurred while the meeting was in session. Present: Chairman J. Griffiths, Trustee J. McDonald, Trustee S. Hanes, Trustee T. Jones, Trustee M. McDonald, Assistant Utilities Superintendent D. Magley and Clerk T. Hedrick.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.
OPEN FORUM:
Clerk Hedrick informed the board of an insurance claim that would be submitted regarding damage to private property.
Trustees inquired as to how the spring cleanup went. Magley informed the board it went well.
Motion by J. McDonald and second by S. Hanes to approve the previous minutes. Roll call: Ayes: S. Hanes, J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald, M. McDonald. Nays: None. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
Motion by M. McDonald and second by T. Jones to hire Dorey Magley as Utilities Superintendent at the rate of $20.00 per hour. Roll call: Ayes: S. Hanes, J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald, M. McDonald. Nays: None. Motion carried.
Applications for Assistant Utilities Superintendent were reviewed. Motion by S. Hanes and second by T. Jones to hire Patrick Shelton as Assistant Utilities Superintendent at the rate of $16.00 per hour. Roll call: Ayes: S. Hanes, J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald, M. McDonald. Nays: None. Motion carried.
Motion by S. Hanes and second by T. Jones that if Patrick Shelton declines the job offer to then offer the position to Corey Evans at the rate of $16.00 per hour. Roll call: Ayes: S. Hanes, J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald, M. McDonald. Nays: None. Motion carried.
Motion by S. Hanes and seocnd by M. McDonald to adjourn the meeting at 7:43pm. Roll call: Ayes: S. Hanes, J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald, M. McDonald. Nays: None. Motion carried.
The next meeting of the Village Board of Trustees will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the Village Office.
