A special meeting of the Stratton Village Board of Trustees was held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 3:00 pm CT at the Village Clerk’s Office. Notice of the meeting was posted and availability of the agenda was communicated in the advance notice. A poster of the “Open Meetings Act” was clearly visible on the board room wall, and Chairman J. Griffiths directed the attention of those present to the poster. All proceedings hereafter shown occurred while the meeting was in session. Present: Chairman J. Griffiths, Trustee J. McDonald, Trustee T. Jones, Trustee M. McDonald, Trustee S. Hanes, and Clerk T. Hedrick.
The meeting was called to order at 3:00 pm.
OPEN FORUM:
Chairman Griffiths requested a second Trustee to view a complaint at a resident’s home on Saturday morning with her. Trustee Jones agreed to attend the meeting and gather more information regarding the complaint to discuss at the regular meeting on June 20th. Clerk Hedrick inquired if it would be acceptable to obtain her pool operator certificate to help fill in at the swimming pool when needed. No objections were noted. Trustee M. McDonald stated there is a new issue with unauthorized dogs in the Village. Trustee M. McDonald also expressed concern regarding the property at 308 Bonner. Clerk Hedrick will send reminders to both residents.
Motion by J. McDonald and second by T. Jones to approve the previous minutes. Roll call: Ayes: J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald, M. McDonald, S. Hanes. Nays: None. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
Employee Policies: Motion by J. Griffiths and second by T. Jones to enter executive session to prevent the needless injury to reputation of an individual. Roll call: Ayes: J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald, M. McDonald, S. Hanes. Nays: None. Motion carried. Executive session entered at 3:13pm. Motion by M. McDonald and second by S. Hanes to leave executive session to prevent the needless injury to reputation of an individual. Roll call: Ayes: J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald, M. McDonald, S. Hanes. Nays: None. Motion carried. Open session entered at 3:34pm.
Motion by M. McDonald and second by T. Jones to adjourn the meeting at 3:34pm. Roll call: Ayes: J. Griffiths, T. Jones, J. McDonald, M. McDonald. Nays: None. Absent S. Hanes. Motion carried.
The next meeting of the Village Board of Trustees will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the Village Office.
